A team is more than a collection of people, it’s relationships, like goals and visions. At Exchange Place we are proud of our team relationships. On average, each of our team members have been with us for over a decade. Fostering individual thought, while providing guidance has always been our goal.
Darand Williams
- Visionary
Darand, an entrepreneurial figure with over 30 years of experience in construction and development, played an instrumental role in forming the business. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on. During his career, Darand collaborated with corporate giants like Walt Disney World, Marriott, and Embassy Suites, as well as individual property owners. His relentless, “get-it-done” approach to work led to numerous successes.
Darand’s expertise extended across all aspects of development, from land clearing and civil engineering to permitting and final construction. His hands-on approach consistently added value to each asset he worked on. By closely monitoring the ever-changing needs of each asset, Darand developed effective methods that allowed Exchange Place to identify future opportunities.
Sharon Williams
- CEO
Straight out of college Sharon began her career as an Account Executive for an ad agency. Over the years she has held many titles from account executive, human resource coordinator, and business owner and CEO.
As a serial entrepreneur, her entrepreneurial spirit shows up in everything she does. Her mentor, life partner and soulmate, Darand, was the greatest of all teachers. As partners, Sharon benefited and grew from Darand’s mentorship into the CEO of Exchange Place today. Her passion for creating vision, creative ROI ideas, leasing, and communications are all fueled by what we fondly refer to as “Darandisms”. Consistently moving the company forward in honor of Darand, is foundation of Exchange Place.
In addition to her efforts at Exchange Place, Sharon is an active member her community. She is currently spearheading the development of a Winter Garden Children’s Museum. Her non-profit support includes acting as Chairperson for Eight Waves Development Committee and a member of the West Orange Chamber of Commerce.
Jacob Williams
- President of Construction and Development
Born into a family of construction and development, many weekends of Jacob’s childhood were spent on job sites. As a result, development is truly “in his blood”. As a graduate of University of South Florida School of Business, Jacob’s rich experience combined with his business savvy creates a true asset to the company’s growth. Most recently Jacob worked for Findorff Construction, a 130+ year old construction company based in Madison, WI where he was the team building, The Hub, a 65-Million-dollar student housing project totaling over 370,000 square feet. Complete with a 12,000 square foot pool on the rooftop of the 6-story pre-cast parking garage. Jacob has experience constructing and developing office, school, retail, and student housing spaces.
